The Fulani, also known as Fulɓe or Peul, are one of the largest traditionally pastoral peoples in Africa. They are spread across Nigeria, Niger, Mali, Senegal, Guinea, Cameroon, and several other West African countries.
Historically, many Fulani communities have been associated with cattle herding and extensive migration patterns. Fulani political and religious movements also played significant roles in the spread of Islam across parts of West Africa, particularly during the 18th and 19th centuries, including the establishment of the Sokoto Caliphate.
Today, many Fulani communities remain deeply rooted in Sunni Islam, alongside strong cultural identities shaped by family, mobility, pastoral traditions, community relationships, honour, and heritage.
In recent years, some Fulani-inhabited regions have experienced conflict, climate pressures, displacement, and farmer–herder tensions. These challenges can make access to remote communities more difficult and create additional barriers to Gospel engagement.
Yet, even in challenging environments, there are testimonies of Fulani individuals encountering Christ in unexpected places, including among displaced and refugee communities.
The Fulani are not simply a demographic group or a statistic. They are communities of people created in the image of God and loved by Him. We pray that the Gospel will reach them in culturally meaningful ways and that indigenous believers will be raised to carry the message of Christ within their own communities.

1. Pray That Mobility Will Become a Pathway for the Gospel
Pray that the mobility and migration patterns of Fulani communities will become opportunities for Gospel access and meaningful relationships.
Ask God to use natural movements across regions to create divine connections through which the message of Christ can travel from community to community.
Scripture: “From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him.” — Acts 17:26–27
2. Pray for Fulfulde-Speaking Believers and Missionaries
Ask the Lord to raise more Fulfulde-speaking believers, evangelists, disciple-makers, and missionaries who understand the language, culture, worldview, and social structures of Fulani communities.
Pray that the Gospel will be communicated clearly, respectfully, and faithfully, without compromising the truth of Scripture.

3. Pray for Fulani Believers in Rural and Displaced Communities
Pray for Fulani believers living in rural, isolated, and displaced communities. Ask God to strengthen them in their faith and surround them with trustworthy Christian fellowship, discipleship, and spiritual support.
May they become firmly rooted in Christ and grow into mature disciples who can encourage others.
Scripture: “Continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught.” — Colossians 2:6–7
4. Pray Against Barriers to Gospel Access
Pray that barriers of fear, suspicion, misunderstanding, and religious hostility that hinder Gospel engagement will be overcome through wisdom, genuine relationships, and the work of the Holy Spirit.
Ask God to prepare hearts and create peaceful opportunities for believers to demonstrate the love and truth of Christ.
Scripture: “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” — 2 Corinthians 10:4
5. Pray for Peace and Reconciliation
Pray for regions affected by conflict involving Fulani communities, farmer–herder tensions, displacement, and insecurity.
Ask God to bring peace, justice, healing, reconciliation, and stability to affected communities. Pray that restored relationships and greater security will create environments where families can flourish and the Church can faithfully serve.
Scripture: “Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” — Psalm 34:14
“I have not overlooked the wandering flocks of this land. Even in movement and displacement, I am drawing My people to Myself. What has been scattered will become a witness, and My light will travel with them from place to place.”
We declare that the Fulani are not forgotten.
May God open doors for the Gospel across communities, settlements, rural areas, and places of displacement. May Fulfulde-speaking believers arise with courage, wisdom, and spiritual maturity.
May the light of Christ travel across borders and communities, and may many Fulani families encounter the love, truth, and transforming power of Jesus Christ.
